I'll Think Of You
Fic number 3! And it's actually a Narcos fic @narcosfandomdiscord
Have fun with our favourite guy, aka "some guy", aka "my guy", aka "Walt Breslin" >:D
Prompt #25, Book Of Reciprocity: "Fine, I'll do it myself."
Word Count: 1.3K
Relationships: Mimi/Pablo Acosta, Walt Breslin & Pablo Acosta
Warnings: Mentioned character death, mentioned drug use (as per canon)
~ Read the fic under the cut ~
Fuck it .
It’s a thought that Walt Breslin thinks on a daily basis.
With Operation Leyenda well and truly over, Walt and his crew had to switch tactics, not without people like Ed Heath towering over them.
Better yet, fucking asshole Calderoni lurks, with his helpful information at one point, and heavy insults at others.
This team of theirs, a real ragtag bunch, can only do so much.
Breslin inquires, one day, if his team has the strength to go on. He gives them all permission to leave: Some have better jobs than this to pursue, others are husbands, and fathers of little boys and girls.
He gives them an exit route, a free pass outta town.
Determination rouses inside him when none of them refuse.
They’ll work, side by side, till the break of dawn, till the end of the day– If it means avenging Kiki Camarena, if it means bringing justice to his name!
That’s all that matters.
He’ll defy anyone that stands in his way. Well, as much as he can do so.
And there comes a point where he’s the one making negotiations, compromises with a side that should be wrong. In all truth, the people he’s speaking to… They’re saner than he expected, especially for their profession.
Before he leaves to meet them, he tells his team, “This one, I’m doing by myself.”
He says it again, in a different way, when they don’t get the message.
“Guys, look, I get it. I’m the leader here. But, damn that! I can only take you so far… You’re angry about it, yes, but let me go. I’ve got the information, the equipment, the leads– Now you’re angry at me. Got it. Fine, I’ll do it myself! You guys stick around, do what you can with what you know, and occupy the ground over here.”
Because this mission is a suicide mission, basically.
The rest of the special agents can know he’s out there, Walt Breslin’s on the case, he’s doing something , some solo mission.
As he drives to Ojinaga, a heaviness settles in his gut. He is both free and chained, maddened and rational.
His heart flutters when he spots a girl, tall, blonde and beautiful, standing around a house. She points upwards, and that’s when Walt is taken off-guard.
Pablo Acosta, drug lord, cartel king, working on a roof.
Fuck it , He thinks, once again, Whatever it takes to get him on-side.

***
Pablo asks him to bring up a toolbox, and Walt Breslin can only oblige.
They start talking about life, about change and simple things.
There comes a point where Acosta pauses and cracks the toolbox open. He shuffles about, as though planning which tool to grab, when, in fact, there are no tools whatsoever. Just beer, bottles and bottles of it.
It’s the American’s sign that he can relax, fortunately enough.
“Do you drink?” He asks, a bottle outstretched in one hand.
“Fuck, yeah, I do,” Walt replies, perhaps a little too enthusiastically, “As much as I can handle.”
They clink bottles in acknowledgement and take long, slow sips. They relish the refreshing taste in the dry heat, the bitterness that sinks into their throats.
“Hey, look, I can get you immunity, protection,” The DEA agent offers, “Whatever you need. As long as you cross that border with me, and tell me everything you know about Felix. Felix Gallardo. ” He clarifies, “I’m lookin’ to take him down.”
“Why’s that? Who’s Felix to you?”
Walt takes a swig of his beer and sighs, his eyes fixed on Acosta’s, “He killed a federal agent. Camarena, his name was. He was diligent, so I’ve heard, and he didn’t deserve what he got. So… This is to avenge him, I guess.”
“So you’ve heard?” The other smiles, tilting his hat, “So you guess? Did you ever know him, Camarena, the agent that died?”
As a DEA agent, he feels like he should’ve, but they weren’t in the same place, the same sector. Kiki was working for longer hours, harder than he ever could’ve… But he didn’t know the man. Not personally. He never got the time, had the connections, to find out who he really was, if he had a family, what he liked in the world…
Pablo Acosta seems to appreciate the simple things. And if Pablo Acosta had met Kiki Camarena, maybe, pushing all the drugs and crime aside, they would have got along splendidly.
All Walt can do is shake his head, rather sadly.
“You didn’t even know him…” Acosta tuts, as though to place blame on Walt. “And I get it, comrades, partners… You trust people who work the same way as you. I can’t do that anymore. All I can trust is Mimi,” He gestures to the girl with fondness, “Or, maybe you.”
“You should trust me,” The DEA agent huffs, crossing his arms, “I’m trying to help you, here… As long as you help me back.”
“I don’t know where I fit in anymore,” He segues, “There’s… A different feeling here, with the drug now, cocaine, the Colombians, fucking politicians… Everything is crazy. So, I might just settle down.”
“Settle down across the border.” He pleads, “Help me out here.”
Acosta stands up, drinks some beer, wanders around the roof aimlessly. Even while Breslin is angry, a part of him worries about the guy crashing and falling.
He exhales and turns back to face the American, glad to occupy the higher ground. “I can’t help you out without knowing who you are. Don’t start… Listing bullshit things. What are you really doing here? That agent is long gone.”
Fuck. Walt thinks, cracking his knuckles just to hear the sound.
The thought is not fuck it , as it should normally be, but instead, total despair. A rock bottom. A weird type of guilt and defeat and admission that he absolutely hates!
And to share it with a former drug lord? Dear god, did things really have to come to this?
I could lie. He muses, staring at the surface below him, pondering, I could lie and cheat and steal to get him to trust me. It’s not beyond the cartels, and it’s not beyond me, is it?
‘Don’t start listing bullshit things.’
Acosta seems like the type of guy to have a lie detector built into his body.
So, Walt looks at him, squints, thanks to the sunlight, and goes for broke.
“Three years ago, I was at home,” He begins, gripping the neck of his beer bottle, “And I was working a shift, everything’s cruisy. That’s when I get a call, for a one-eighteen, a gang-related shooting. But if it was located in the town over, why should I be called?!”
Acosta just shrugs: A simple signal. He doesn’t know the story, so Breslin must tell it.
“If I was called, I had to go… And I knew from that point forward that something was wrong. My brother was involved. Not just that,” A wobble emerges in his voice, “ My brother had died. Three shots to the chest, with an eight-ball of cocaine by his side.”
Walt wipes a hand at his face. He’s vulnerable, he’s scared, and he’s not about to start crying in front of Pablo Acosta.
He finishes his tale with his voice at a mere whisper, “So… Yeah. That’s why I’m here. ”
When the drug lord sits down and lets out a slow exhale, he knows. The story, the truth, the emotions… They’ve all hit in just the right places.
And Walt Breslin can be proud of that. Proud for telling the truth, proud for negotiating in a way that doesn’t involve trickery…
Because Pablo Acosta reveals, just minutes before the DEA agent climbs down to the ground, that his brother was a junkie too.

Rosario Isabel Dawson (born May 9, 1979) is an American actress and singer. She made her feature film debut in the 1995 independent drama Kids. Her subsequent film roles include He Got Game (1998), Josie and the Pussycats (2001), Men in Black II (2002), Rent (2005), Sin City (2005), Clerks II (2006), Death Proof (2007), Unstoppable (2010), and Top Five (2014). Dawson has also provided voice-over work for Disney, Warner Bros., DC Comics, and ViacomCBS' Nickelodeon unit.
For her role in Rent, Dawson won the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress – Motion Picture; for her role in Top Five, she was nominated for the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Actress in a Comedy.
Dawson is also known for having several roles in comic book adaptations. These include Gail in Sin City (2005) and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014), providing the voices of Diana Prince / Wonder Woman in the DC Animated Movie Universe and Barbara Gordon / Batgirl in The Lego Batman Movie, as well as her portrayal of Claire Temple in five of the Marvel/Netflix series: Daredevil (2015–2016), Jessica Jones (2015), Luke Cage (2016–2018), Iron Fist and The Defenders (both 2017).
Early life
Dawson was born on May 9, 1979, in New York City. Her mother, Isabel Celeste, is of Cuban and Puerto Rican ancestry. Isabel was 16 years old when Rosario was born; she never married Rosario's biological father, Patrick C. Harris. When Rosario was a year old, her mother married Greg Dawson, a construction worker. Dawson has a half-brother, Clay, who is four years younger.
Isabel and Greg sublet their 199 Avenue A apartment to Paul de Rienzo and moved their family into a reclaimed building after being approved by the 544 East 13 Street residents on the Lower East Side of Manhattan as members of a affordable housing plan. During that time Rosario and Clay would also grow up in Texas. Dawson has cited this part of her history when explaining how she learned that, "If you wanted something better, you had to do it all yourself."
Career
As a child, Dawson made a brief appearance on Sesame Street. At the age of 15, she was subsequently discovered on her front-porch step by photographer Larry Clark and Harmony Korine, where Korine lauded her as being perfect for a part he had written in his screenplay that would become the controversial 1995 film Kids. She went on to star in varied roles, ranging from independent films to big budget blockbusters including Rent, He Got Game and Men in Black II.
In 1998, Dawson teamed up with Prince for the re-release of his 1980s hit "1999". The new remixed version featured the actress in an introductory voice over, offering commentary on the state of the world in the year before the new millennium. The following year, she appeared in The Chemical Brothers' video for the song "Out of Control" from the album Surrender. She is also featured on the track "She Lives In My Lap" from the second disc of the OutKast album Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, in which she speaks the intro and a brief interlude towards the end.
In 2001, she appeared in the movie, Josie and the Pussycats as band member Valerie Brown.
Dawson starred as Naturelle Rivera, the love interest of a convicted drug dealer played by Edward Norton, in the 2002 Spike Lee film drama, 25th Hour. In the 2004 Oliver Stone film Alexander, she played the bride of Alexander the Great. In the autumn of 2005, Dawson appeared on stage as Julia in the Public Theater's "Shakespeare in the Park" revival of Two Gentlemen of Verona. It was her first appearance on stage.
In the film adaptation of the popular musical Rent in 2005, she played the exotic dancer Mimi Marquez, replacing Daphne Rubin-Vega, who was pregnant and unable to play the part. She also appeared in the adaptation of the graphic novel Sin City, co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, portraying Gail, a prostitute-dominatrix. Also in that year, she appeared in a graphically violent scene in the Rob Zombie film The Devil's Rejects. Though the scene was cut from the final film, it is available in the deleted scenes on the DVD release.
She starred as Becky in 2006's Clerks II, and mentioned in Back to the Well, the making-of documentary, that the donkey show sequence was what made her decide to take the role. In May of the same year, Dawson, an avid comic book fan, co-created and co-wrote the comic book miniseries Occult Crimes Taskforce. She was at the 2007 San Diego Comic-Con to promote the comic. She co-starred with former Rent alum Tracie Thoms in the Quentin Tarantino throwback movie Death Proof in 2007, part of the Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez double feature Grindhouse. She teamed up with friend Talia Lugacy, whom she met at the Lee Strasberg Academy, to produce and star in Descent. On July 7, 2007, Dawson presented at the American leg of Live Earth.
In 2008, Dawson starred with Will Smith in Seven Pounds and in Eagle Eye, produced by Steven Spielberg. Beginning in August, she starred in Gemini Division, an online science fiction series. Later in the year, she voiced Artemis of Bana-Mighdall in the animated film Wonder Woman.
In 2009, Dawson performed in The People Speak, a documentary feature film that uses dramatic and musical performances of the letters, diaries, and speeches of everyday Americans, based on historian Howard Zinn's A People's History of the United States. In 2009, Dawson also voiced the character of Velvet Von Black in Rob Zombie's animated feature, The Haunted World of El Superbeasto. In 2015, she played Claire Temple in the Netflix web television series Daredevil, a role which she reprised in Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Dawson's likeness was also used in the Jessica Jones tie-in comic as her character on both shows. Dawson has continued this role in 2017 in Iron Fist and The Defenders. In 2018, she played the female lead role in the Netflix movie, Krystal. In 2020, she was cast as the Star Wars character Ahsoka Tano in the second season of The Mandalorian on Disney+.
Personal life

From 2016 to 2017, Dawson dated comedian and television host Eric Andre.
In March 2019, Dawson confirmed that she is in a relationship with United States senator Cory Booker.
In October 2019 Derek Finley, a trans man, filed a case in Los Angeles against Dawson and her family for alleged incidents involving discrimination, verbal abuse, misgendering and physical assault. Finley had been employed as a handyman, living with the family and had known them for decades. The Dawson family has not publicly commented.
In February 2020, Dawson publicly came out as a member of the LGBT community.
Politics
Dawson was arrested in 2004, while protesting against president George W. Bush.
Dawson endorsed Barack Obama for re-election in 2012, and Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination in the 2016 Democratic Party primaries. On April 15, 2016, Dawson was among the protesters arrested during Democracy Spring in Washington, D.C.
In mid-2019, Dawson endorsed her boyfriend Cory Booker in the 2020 presidential election. Booker ended his campaign for president on January 13, 2020. Had she become First Lady of the United States, Dawson said she would have advocated for solutions to youth homelessness. On March 9, 2020, Dawson endorsed the presidential campaign of Bernie Sanders, whom she had also previously endorsed in his 2016 bid.
Philanthropy
Dawson is involved with the Lower East Side Girls Club and supports other charities such as environmental group Global Cool, One Campaign, Operation USA, Oxfam, Amnesty International, Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), the International Rescue Committee, Voto Latino, and Stay Close.org, a poster and public service ad campaign for PFLAG where she is featured with her uncle Frank Jump. In 2012, Dawson partnered with SodaStream International in launching the first annual Unbottle the World Day, a campaign conceived in an effort to raise awareness to the impact of cans and plastic bottles on the environment. Dawson also sits on the Board of Directors of Scenarios USA, which works to support a generation of reflective, outspoken, and confident youth through filmmaking and uses film to educate students through a variety of programs.

1 The Walking Dead Cast (Various Superheroes)
Tumblr media
Robert Kirkman wrote the graphic novels for The Walking Dead and later helped bring the series to life on television. He is doing it once again with his dark yet hopeful superhero series, Invincible.  The cast of AMC's hit, dystopian drama is clearly near and dear to his heart, because many of them are featured in his new show.
Fans of The Walking Dead should listen carefully when watching because guest stars include The Walking Dead alums such as Khary Payton, Lauren Cohan, Ross Marquand, Lennie James, Chad L. Coleman, Sonequa Martin-Green, and Michael and Cudlitz.

Apollinaire coined the chat ‘surreal’ to call the blithesome activity of shock or curiosity he begin in the alien combinations of aboriginal ‘Surrealist’ works. The appellation has come, added recently, to be associated with those moments aback the accustomed warps and contorts, acceptable the being of nightmare. ‘Dreamers Awake’ is below about artifice those nightmares than harnessing the benumbed from which they ability creep. 10 Gift-Wrapped Holiday Flicks
The holiday movie season is officially upon us, and in between shopping sprees and social gatherings, sometimes a break inside a darkened theater provides the perfect entertainment diversion. With so many great new films to choose from opening between now and Christmas Day, we've narrowed down the field to 10 that we're excited about and feel could be worth your hard-earned cash.
The Oscar-bait entries offer some truly interesting and transformative performances and characterizations, while the family-friendly popcorn arena is populated by the expected array of sequels, spinoffs and new riffs on familiar territory. Either way you choose to go this holiday season, these gift-wrapped movies promise to be both entertaining and thought-provoking experiences.
THE OSCAR BAIT
Welcome to Marwen (Dec. 21)
The compelling true tale of artist Mark Hogancamp comes to life with Steve Carell in the starring role. A man who loses his memory and motor functions after he's severely beaten by Nazis, Hogancamp retreats to his own miniature world, which he populates with dolls decked out in military uniforms and hardware. There he photographs his installations, pieces his life back together and plays out his revenge fantasies. Leslie Mann is Mark's neighbor who helps him to find the courage to face his enemies in this blend of live-action drama and CGI fantasy from director Robert Zemeckis, who finds plenty of warm-hearted inspiration amid the tragedy.

Kiki Layne and Stephan James in If Beale Street Could Talk
Annapurna Pictures
If Beale Street Could Talk (Nov. 31)
Oscar-winning Moonlight filmmaker Barry Jenkins is back with an adaptation of James Baldwin's acclaimed, 1970s-set novel of a love affair, family drama, and a new life born into a complicated situation. Stephan James and Kiki Layne play Harlem sweethearts Fonny Hunt and Tish Rivers, who are torn apart and must fight for justice after Fonny is framed for a crime he did not commit. With Regina King, Colman Domingo, Brian Tyree Henry, Diego Luna, Pedro Pascal and Dave Franco also starring, expect some serious emotional fireworks and memorable performances.

Nicole Kidman in Destroyer
Annapurna Pictures
Destroyer (Dec. 25)
Nicole Kidman once again transforms her appearance for a tour-de-force performance as Erin Bell, an undercover LAPD detective whose assignment with a gang goes tragically wrong. Years later, when the gang's leader emerges, Bell must dive back into her emotionally jarring past to pick up the shattered pieces of her life and set things straight. Director Karyn Kusama helms this gritty crime thriller from a script by her husband, Phil Hay, and his writing partner, Matt Manfredi. Sebastian Stan, Toby Kebbell, Tatiana Maslany, Bradley Whitford, Jade Pettyjohn and Scoot McNairy also star.

Felicity Jones stars as Ruth Bader Ginsberg, with Armie Hammer as her supportive husband, in biopic On the Basis of Sex.
Focus Features
On the Basis of Sex (Dec. 25)
Don't let the tricky title fool you. The notorious R.B.G. gets her own compelling biopic tale this Christmas, with Rogue One star Felicity Jones portraying Supreme Court justice–to-be Ruth Bader Ginsberg. The period drama zeroes in on her legal struggle to bring a groundbreaking gender-discrimination case before the U.S. Court of Appeals — a case that threatens to topple a stack of laws that uphold similar discrimination. Directed by Mimi Leder, the film also stars Kathy Bates, Justin Theroux, Sam Waterston, Armie Hammer as Ruth's supportive husband — plus a cameo by R.B.G. herself.

Yes, that is Christian Bale under that makeup, as Dick Cheney in Vice.
Annapurna Pictures
Vice (Dec. 25)
Who knew a film about Dick Cheney could be so entertaining? Adam McKay follows up The Big Short with an insider look at how business bureaucrat Cheney landed the No. 2 spot next to George W. Bush and then manipulated the duties of the country's second-most-powerful post, with repercussions that are still felt today. Christian Bale transforms himself physically to play Cheney and deliver a stunning performance opposite Sam Rockwell's Bush, with a supporting cast that includes Amy Adams as Lynne Cheney, Steve Carell as Donald Rumsfeld and Tyler Perry as Colin Powell.

Mackenzie Foy, left, and Keira Knightley update the holiday classic in The Nutcracker and the Four Realms
Laurie Sparham/Walt Disney Enterprises
The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (Nov. 2)
This ain't your grandparents' Nutcracker! The perennial Tchaikovsky holiday classic gets an Alice in Wonderland–style CGI makeover with Mackenzie Foy as Clara, who finds a magical key needed to unlock a box containing a priceless gift. When the key is lost to a mysterious and fantastic parallel world, Clara must team up with a soldier (Jayden Fowora-Knight) to battle the tyrant Mother Ginger's (Helen Mirren) evil forces (with mice! lots and lots of mice!), reclaim the key and bring peace to the four realms. Keira Knightley, Richard E. Grant, Misty Copeland and Morgan Freeman add star flavor to this colorful extravaganza.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (Nov. 16)
Bring your magic wands! J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World universe continues to expand with the highly anticipated follow-up to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which finds Jude Law as a young Albus Dumbledore recruiting magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to face off against the tricky wizard Grindelwald (Johnny Depp). Featuring a welcome return to the halls of Hogwarts, the action takes audiences to London and Paris locations for plenty of magic, mystery, pyrotechnics and fierce/cuddly creatures. Mainstay Harry Potter director David Yates helms once again, with returning cast members Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol and Katherine Waterston.

John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman reprise their characters in Ralph Breaks the Internet, the sequel to surprise hit Wreck-It Ralph.
Walt Disney Enterprises
Ralph Breaks the Internet (Nov. 21)
The animated cast of Wreck-It Ralph is back and ready to break out of the video arcade. When Vanellope von Schweetz's (Sarah Silverman) Sugar Rush video game is threatened, she teams up with lumbering pal Wreck-It Ralph (John C. Reilly) to scour the Internet for a replacement part. Alongside a gaggle of Disney princesses, Star Wars characters and other Mouse House properties populating the World Wide Web, keep your eyes open for plenty of other corporate branding jokes to make you smirk, roll your eyes and prompt you to do more online shopping. Taraji P. Henson, Gal Gadot and Alan Tudyk are among the new voices joining in the fun.

Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone are back in Creed II.
MGM
Creed II (Nov. 21)
Amazingly, the eighth installment of the four-decades-and-still-standing Rocky franchise looks like it will go the distance. Michael B. Jordan is back as Adonis Creed, with Sylvester Stallone's veteran fighter Rocky Balboa by his side, this time ready to face off against the son of Rocky's toughest opponent and the man who killed his father — Ivan Drago. Yep, Dolph Lundgren's there to stare down Rock as the next generation looks to break each other inside the ring. With original Creed director Ryan Coogler now on Black Panther patrol, Steven Caple Jr. takes over directing duties, guiding Florian Munteanu as the intimidating Viktor Drago and Tessa Thompson as Creed's love/conscience.

Emily Blunt stars in Mary Poppins.
Walt Disney Enterprises
Mary Poppins Returns (Dec. 18)
Expect this reboot/sequel to go down like a spoonful of sugar. Five decades after Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke delighted audiences in Disney's musical adaptation of the P.L. Travers novel, Emily Blunt floats into the title role as the magical nanny, signature umbrella in hand, to win over a whole new generation. Now grown up, siblings Michael and Jane Banks (Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer) struggle with finances while Michael's children fall into line for Poppins, who takes them on another colorful adventure of animated delights. Lin-Manuel Miranda sings, dances and tries on a milder Cockney accent as a street lamplighter, Colin Firth is the stodgy banker boss, and Meryl Streep and Angela Lansbury (and the returning Van Dyke!) bolster the fairy-tale cast, directed by Rob Marshall.

Amazon canceló Good Girls Revolt tras su primera temporada.
Big Little Lies 2
